The good examples brought together by this work package of the project have been a step in the creation of the Science-Based Spiritual Counseling Methodology (SCM) under the next work package, obtaining an applicable science-based transnational methodological framework on spiritual counseling methodologies in prison contexts.
The main result of this work package, therefore, is a collect ion of good examples of spiritual counseling methodologies in European prisons as well as other educational bodies dealing with young prisoner education.
The overall research was divided into three sub-tasks, which concluded as a general 161-page Good Practices report with the contributions of all partners. This whole data collection process involved desk research, case studies, and interviews with spiritual counselors and ex-offenders.
The desk-based research contained diverse cultural contexts that enriched the data, providing comprehensive insights into spiritual counseling practices across Europe. Notable practices include the “Liberation Prison Project” in Italy, “Yoga Practices in Catalonia,” and “A Day with Dad” in Romania, and MAREP – a spiritual counseling program in Turkish probation services which offered varied approaches to relevant applications and practices.
